Albayrak

Hasan Hüseyin Albayrak is an academic working in aesthetics and the philosophy of music, and a tourist guide. He completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Philosophy at Süleyman Demirel University (2013) and received pedagogical formation training at Yıldız Technical University (2015). At the Graduate School of Social Sciences of Istanbul Medeniyet University he earned a master's degree in Philosophy (2017) and a doctorate in Systematic Philosophy and History of Philosophy (2024). He also completed a non-thesis master's programme in Tourist Guiding at Eskişehir Osmangazi University.

In his master's thesis he examined Turkish music of the Republican era from the standpoint of philosophical hermeneutics; in his doctoral thesis he analysed the mode of being of music through the fundamental concepts of aesthetics. Both theses have been published as books: Felsefi Hermeneutik Bakımından Cumhuriyet Döneminde Türk Müziği (Efil, 2024) and Estetiğin Temel Kavramları Üzerinden Müzik Varlığının Çözümlenmesi (Sonçağ Akademi, 2025). He has published articles in Turkish and English in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has presented papers at various congresses.

At İstinye University and Istanbul Okan University he has taught introduction to philosophy, aesthetics and philosophy of art, hermeneutics, ontology, epistemology, ethics, modern logic, and texts in the history of philosophy. His work focuses on the ontology and phenomenology of music, Eduard Hanslick and formalism in music, the hermeneutics of Schleiermacher and Gadamer, and the ontology of art. He has been a member of the Türkiye Wagner Community since 2024.

As a tourist guide, he aims to present the historical and artistic layers of Istanbul from a philosophical perspective. He has been a stock photographer since 2014; nearly 5,700 of his photographs documenting the historic sites and everyday life of Anatolia are published by international agencies, above all iStock/Getty Images. He has played the guitar since 2006; he served on the board of the SDÜ Rock Club, taught guitar there, and gave guitar lessons at Akdeniz Sanatevi and at the İMÜ Teoman Duralı Philosophy-Science Research Society.
